…and just smiles.
How do you feel when India wins a match which seems just impossible?
How does it feel to have gala time with your mates at the height of 5000 feet above sea level, walking over the clouds?
How do you perceive the joy of celebrating the birthday of your dear friend at midnight, the day India has won an exciting cricket match and also, when a new room-mate has joined you?
Such feelings can’t be described but felt.
Praying for India to win last night when team needed 10 runs out of 6 balls and then seeing it winning the match was just astonishing. It was great to see Sachin Tendulkar back in form - the way he played in his early twenties. We had never lost the hopes till Uthappa was on the crease. He played just amazingly to make India win out of blues.
And then it was the first day of Raveesh as our new room-mate. He is also mah colleague. Good to have first day on superb note
Yes he also plays TT and is left-handed
.
Hey Chunks, we are still missing you…
Before that, there was a trip to Parwanoo on this weekend…enjoying the trolley and then, Timber Trail. The location is just right place to spend the best times of your life.
What can be better than to be enjoying there with friends - the perfect perk of being someone than someone else
Happy Birthday, Rajinder!!

(CE, Colleagues, Corporates, Cricket, Just like that!, Mates, Personal, Sports, TT, Work)
After a long long time when there was nothing to play but work, there has come greenery again in terms of sports at CE. There were times when I talked about Quake III and other times it was about Table Tennis. Then there was a big silence for sports when nothing was there but only QuakeIII/netamp was the only source of enjoyment.
And it started again after another Nitesh, Nitesh Gupta took the initiative of starting sports. Of course, this Nitesh was already there to support the sport cause
. The first corporate cricket match which was played in history of CE was on September 23, 2006 (why all good things happen to me in September month. Parichay, Infosys is also held in month of September, then my first ever and best ever appraisal was done in September and list continues…). We even witnessed our CFO joining us at the field in other cricket match at the ground of ITM College, Gurgaon.
And Table Tennis also started once again inside the corridors of CE from May 22, 2007. After all, revolutions are brought through little sparks and once again, both Niteshs were there - all for sports cause
. And the best spell that I have seen so far is the one of bachelor Girish who won 25 games in one go before leaving…WOW.
It feels so nice to have a small workplace filled with quality environment and sports. What else would anyone expect for an ideal place to work at?

(Cricket, Football, Nitesh Gautam, Personal, Sports, TT, Video Games)
As there are tournaments being played in different continents for different games these days like
- India Vs WI in WI where India won any series against WI after 35 years
- FIFA WC in Germany where today 1st semifinal will be played b/w Germany and Italy
- Wimbledon in England
, so was feeling like recalling sports experience in my life.
When I was a child, as far as I remember, I started playing Carom - board as my first ever game, after toys of course
. My dad is an expert at that and he plays very well. Even today, I like him playing it. Sometimes, he used to put everything in one strike and we used to enjoy those autumns.
Another game he is expert at, is Chess. I learnt it very well from him and later, taught others also. Proudly represented my univ team at inter-univ chess competition. Chess board is other thing which is always with me, after computer.
I had learnt these two games by the age of 7. Cricket was the next game to enter into my life. Was kinda all-rounder at one time. Captained team in a tournament. Our school team won one tournament also. I love playing this out door game. It was my craze about fielding, batting, bowling, those shiny Indian cricket team players like Tendulkar, Kumble & Jadeja, that I have been playing it all the years since I started playing, it can be in a cricket ground, at tuition, college, university, department or night cricket at velodrome. Still missing those old night games in velodrome.
From velodrome, I got reminded of other outdoor game which I love to play - Football/Soccer (if we call it in words of Rathore
). I had played it very less before coming to DCSE…hardly 5-6 matches in entire 17 years but after entering into univ and under the guidelines/pushes of Rathore, I was the one of those 15 hostel sufferers of Rathore’s soccer love who had to join him whenever he wanted to play. He was damn good player of it - be it online or offline. Online - Fifa 98 multi-player game over my PC. After some time, I also started enjoying it. It was fun playing in midnight with gang of guys in velodrome or univ ground, with half-time break of those drinks left from TechDisha. So here is the reason, why gals don’t like boys’ night-outs - TOI Q for last week’s Explore.
I have been playing Video Games from my childhood. Have been addicted to them for long time. And after getting into grad, got hooked to PC Games which took place of Video games. Have played top of the line games of those times - Half Life, Quake III, Max Payne etc.
..........
This is a preview of
Games in my life

(B.Tech., Bangalore, Blogger.com, CE, Colleagues, Corporates, Cricket, General, Gurgaon, India, Infy, Mates, Nitesh Gautam, Personal, Places, Sports, TT, Truly Indian, Work)
I always favor that games sud be an integrated part of work in IT companies where employees can get refreshed for some time, after they start feeling bored for working long hours. And here at CE, I am balancing my work life in same way. I work, I play, then I work and then again, some play. My favorites here are Table Tennis & Quake III.
I am playing TT evday on 2nd floor here @ CE after lunch as I feel better playing it at that time in afternoon.
Then when again I start feeling weary, I ping Tejinder - the only other guy who gives me good fight in Quake III here.
When I had started work @ Infy, I had never thought that there I will ever find any hardcore gamers among monotonus coders. I dont defy that I am not but I am also a chronic gamer plus IT evangelist.
But my this thinking was later proved to be wrong by a small brand of other people like -
1. Ansylem Joseph @ Infy who was other lover of Quake III out there and I had some good games with him but we cudnt find 3rd one to accompany our this hobby/passion (although we lived at two opposite corners in company) and it ended there only. I am missing you Ansylem.
2. Then at CE, I never dreamed if I wud ever be able to find sumone here as there was only one among in 15K, and here among 2K…almost impossible and then one day, I saw Tejinder playing Quake III. He used to play with Ashish Ujjwal - OAO TL who has just left and just at the time, he neeeded an opponent, I found him. And now we play it whenever we feel exhausted - and in my view, if you are a unwavering coder, then Quake III is the one for you, if you love games and feel bored at times from work.
I like to play among bunch of players which can be bots or players around me but there sud be at least 7-8 players in game whereas Teji resist on having real players only and minimum bots.
Here, sometime, we find company of Nitesh Gupta (yes, my square
- we share our First Name as well as Initials - N.G.). He is improving a lot but he has worse problem than Teji - he resist on playing with only real players and most of the times, we end up having only 2 players in map/game - I & Nitesh.
Still waiting for others at CE to get into the game.
Cummon Guys, I am waiting 4 u!!!
