Is Zidane Offender?

Sunday night match was speculative…be it the struggle of both teams for cup or the head bump of Zidane to Materazzi. I wanted to write about it on the day of happening only but wanted to know more about incident as Zidane has been one of my all time fav players.

The reason that why I cudnt believe what happened that night was bcoz Zidane is one of those finest soccer players that I have ever seen who believe in harmless play (last time when he was shown red card - was in 2000, as far as I cud find out). Ronaldinho is another player who lie in this category. So it was hurting to me when I saw such a class player doing this act and that too intentionally without any strive. Red card was obvious and it was worthless talking to referee after doing such an act, as Zidane was shown on TV. Moreover, it was of interest for me as it was supposed to be the farewell match for him and no one wud dare to do such thing at such an occasion…that too in 111th minute in extra time of game - causing an opprobrious exit from WC, professional football and world stage. If such a player can still be declared as BEST PLAYER OF THE WORLD CUP (and title of news was - DARK SIDE OF GENIUS ) ), then of course, it can attract any-one’s attention.
Yesterday, after doing serious analysis, I came to know that he was provoked to do what had happened. A french TV showed the lip reading of Materazzi where he was shown abusing Zidane and it was serious one. He did it multiple times. Zidane has been playing for Italia club Juventus for many years, so he knows Italian language - as is speculated by football pundits. There’s speculation that Materazzi called him a terrorist. However, a Brazilian TV channel, using lip-reading experts, said the Italian used really offensive words for Zidane’s sis. Zidane’s agent said he was “provoked by something very grave”. Zidane was well supported by Luther Blissett, the black English footballer by bringing up the racism issue.

I ask, who wont go offensive after hearing something very explosive? I am completely on side of Zidane after having going thru’ above news. He wasn’t wrong anywhere in doing the act. He was and he will always be remembered as a great footballer and I am supported by those 86% who polled for TOI’s poll that Will you remember him for his red card or as a footballer.

Here goes the words of French president for him -

I would like to express all the respect I have for a man who represents at the same time all the most beautiful values of sport, the greatest human qualities one can imagine, and who has honoured French sport and, simply, France…You are a virtuoso, a genius of world football, you are also a man of heart, of commitment and of conviction. That is why France admires you and loves you.

Weather is HOT

(Bollywood, Football, General, Gurgaon, Hindi Music, Movies, Music, Nitesh Gautam, Personal, Places, Shayari, Sports, Work)

These days, it is peak of summer at GGN and Delhi. Sun is on its full youth and making our bodies cry without any reason. Although whole day, it is in AC but once you are at home, even air cooler isn’t effective against such hot weather.

And above that, electricity deptt make it hotter by making electricity cuts now and them for 2-3 hours with 15 minutes of intervals by providing electricity supply.

Last night, although Italy won but it was the most boring match that I watched in whole WC. No goal till 90 minutes of play, that too in quarter final, when you are witnessing match b/w world’s two strong teams which have made it to Quarter finals/last 8 and you are expecting an exciting play. At least they cud have made it by not any other means but making more fouls/getting colored cards mrgreen . I hope today’s match b/w France & Portugal will be interesting.

Working on something sounding like data entry/feeding!

Listening to latest songs of Golmaal, Rocky, Omkara, Corporate and Anthony Kaun Hai - not much appealing except 2-3 like Ishq Kiya, Junoo etc.
Updated my profile on orkut - for options From my past relationships i learned - Fresher…looking for an right match! and for option Ideal match - ?????????…I think both are correlated.

Bata e ajnabi tera kya naam rakhun,
Khawab rakhun to adhura reh jayega, Dil kahun to toot jayega
Aa tera naam zindagi rakh doon, Maut tak to tera saath rahega

And smthing about speed-brakers

Tuesday, July 4, 2006 | E-Mail This Post/Page
(Bangalore, Football, Gurgaon, Nitesh Gautam, Personal, Places, Sports)

I wud definitely like to hear about - Why speedbreakers are made? Why?

I am having the worst ex about the speed-breakers here at GGN. Yesterday, I noticed that two more speed breakers were up on the way from office to home…that too on the main road. Do you know, it is only 4.2 kms of distance b/w my home and office and when I calculated the number of steep speed-humps that I cross on my road to home, they count to 12. That means, approximately 3 jolts per km. And it GGN, the IT hub of country.

As far as my view matters, I cud figure out following reasons behind building speed breakers, after serious discussion with the geniuses around me -
Security - In order to avoid accidents so that ppl cant run vehicles very fast. Here when road are made so wide, there is very less or negligible traffic, I don’t think that this cud be the reason. In that case, max number of breakers sud had been at BLR but there I hardly noticed even a single breaker in radius of about 8 kms around our home. So are BLRians neglect these facts or GGNites are more than conservatives?
Safety - At the work places, hospitals, educational instis etc. But I dint noticed any school on the way. Yes there is one engg college and two bumpers are there. 2 new are made in front of park. What about rest 8?
For Scrutinizing Romeos - And there is very less probability but one cant neglect it. Ppl have build speed-breakers on both sides of their homes and I cud figure out that this cud be the safety measure by parents of those so called babes so that Romeos cant escape easily while making rounds around the area.
But still I think that 3 bumps per km is too muchhhhh.

I am leaving for semi-final b/w Germany & Italy although it was disappointing to see 2 of my fav teams - England & Brazil, getting out in Quarter-Finals. Waiting to see remaining 3 exciting knock-outs ) .

Games in my life

Tuesday, July 4, 2006 | E-Mail This Post/Page
(Cricket, Football, Nitesh Gautam, Personal, Sports, TT, Video Games)

As there are tournaments being played in different continents for different games these days like

 • India Vs WI in WI where India won any series against WI after 35 years
 • FIFA WC in Germany where today 1st semifinal will be played b/w Germany and Italy
 • Wimbledon in England

, so was feeling like recalling sports experience in my life.

When I was a child, as far as I remember, I started playing Carom - board as my first ever game, after toys of course ) . My dad is an expert at that and he plays very well. Even today, I like him playing it. Sometimes, he used to put everything in one strike and we used to enjoy those autumns.

Another game he is expert at, is Chess. I learnt it very well from him and later, taught others also. Proudly represented my univ team at inter-univ chess competition. Chess board is other thing which is always with me, after computer.

I had learnt these two games by the age of 7. Cricket was the next game to enter into my life. Was kinda all-rounder at one time. Captained team in a tournament. Our school team won one tournament also. I love playing this out door game. It was my craze about fielding, batting, bowling, those shiny Indian cricket team players like Tendulkar, Kumble & Jadeja, that I have been playing it all the years since I started playing, it can be in a cricket ground, at tuition, college, university, department or night cricket at velodrome. Still missing those old night games in velodrome.

From velodrome, I got reminded of other outdoor game which I love to play - Football/Soccer (if we call it in words of Rathore ) ). I had played it very less before coming to DCSE…hardly 5-6 matches in entire 17 years but after entering into univ and under the guidelines/pushes of Rathore, I was the one of those 15 hostel sufferers of Rathore’s soccer love who had to join him whenever he wanted to play. He was damn good player of it - be it online or offline. Online - Fifa 98 multi-player game over my PC. After some time, I also started enjoying it. It was fun playing in midnight with gang of guys in velodrome or univ ground, with half-time break of those drinks left from TechDisha. So here is the reason, why gals don’t like boys’ night-outs - TOI Q for last week’s Explore.

I have been playing Video Games from my childhood. Have been addicted to them for long time. And after getting into grad, got hooked to PC Games which took place of Video games. Have played top of the line games of those times - Half Life, Quake III, Max Payne etc.
