I am trying to continue the trend started by me when 2006 was ending. To summarize the things in the way that you can recall them later, more easily than ever.
Here is the first series of that kind (you can also find same list for last year) -
- What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
- Continued my job for 2 years (of course that is an achievement when it is for first in 3 years of career)
- Completed NetAmp application – an app to play music over network
- Found my love
- Traveled abroad / US (Writing from there only)
- Visited Disneyland and Universal Studios
- Watched lot and lot of movies (I still can’t believe that I managed to watch 50 movies in 2 months!)
- Visited Historical Monuments in Capital nearby
- Met with old time mate (Happy)
- Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Oh yes I kept it. I don’t have habit of leaving impossible things like that. If it couldn’t be done in 2006, it was kept in 2007. Hey Krishna, are you listening? Of course, making another one for year 2008 and this time, again it is next to impossible for a person like me!
- Did anyone close to you give birth?
Luckily NO.
- Did anyone close to you die?
No.
- What countries did you visit?
US
- What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Remembrance (I think it isn’t about resolution)
- What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory?
27/07/2007, 04/12/2007 and 13/12/2007 (all sum up to mah lucky number as I have realized just now)
- What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Discovered Love
- What was your biggest failure?
Umm…None.
- Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes. Cough and Cold for quite long time during Cricket World Cup
- What was the best thing you bought?
I never buy things rather I present them to myself – 2 GFs / Laptops (dv9502 and dv6500t CTO NB) and 2 External HDDs (160 GB LACIE and 1 TB Western Digital)
- Whose behavior merited celebration?
- Jo
- Ritu
- Puneet’s laughs
- Pankaj’s company during celebrations
- Nitesh Gupta for wonderful rides
- My Brother
- Archana for wonderful compliment
- Happy
- Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Three of mah colleagues
- Where did most of your money go?
- Laptops
- External HDDs
- Clothes
- Movies
- Coffee
- Food
- Discotheques
- Shelter
- What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- Love

Presently I am residing here in US of A as Hema called it out! I am here for official trip from my firm and had reached here on December 4. Right now staying somewhere in San Jose and working at nearby location in Sunnyvale. Lucky to have company of two mates here – Amit Gupta and Nitesh Gupta (Nits). We all are colleagues. Nits is here since Nov and I have reached here with Amit. We go to office together, almost staying together and cooking together too. I am liking this place because of its beautiful infra and VTS service. Moreover there are lot of people from other races here as they say that more than 40% people are Indians in this city and it is also known as Gandhi Nagar. It feels like mini India. People are quite friendly and one can easily get hooked up with the ones of their interest. I had my tryst with locals and I am feeling good being here after meeting with them.
Whole week I was busy in settling down at office and at the apartments. Things were so messed up at both places. For first time, I realized that even a girl can mess up an apartment too much to clean up properly. Eh.
This was the first weekend and went out to Mccarthy Ranch. There first went to Best Buy and looked at the electronics goods primarily. But I found that all those which I wanted were more cheaper when purchased online than from store provided you know where to look out over Internet. Then it was Wallmart to get other stuff for living. Interestingly I happened to meet and talk with 2 Indian guys (Harsh and Sri) at Best Buy and one at Wallmart (Srinivas) which was surprising for me provided my nature of… At the end of day, we had something going inside our stomachs (I am not able to recall the name of outlet) but I must say, it is very hard for a veggie to survive on fast-food here specially when you get to eat ultra-cold burgers and that too, not much tasty
. India is much better in that way. Also, here McDonald’s doesn’t serve any vegetable items…huh. Also bus service is till 0830 only on weekend. So you better get into last bus otherwise you will be left thinking of almost no other alternative.
Weather here is quite cold and you can’t be out from home without any jacket even when it is a sunny day. And purchase of a jacket was the costliest part of my shopping
. I chose Raiders to save myself from deadly cold outside. It was quite expensive shopping for me out of we 3 at the end of day but I had something to feel good for sleeping soundly. Nits is still busy with issues
…poor guy. I don’t know when will he get to sleep.

…and just smiles.
How do you feel when India wins a match which seems just impossible?
How does it feel to have gala time with your mates at the height of 5000 feet above sea level, walking over the clouds?
How do you perceive the joy of celebrating the birthday of your dear friend at midnight, the day India has won an exciting cricket match and also, when a new room-mate has joined you?
Such feelings can’t be described but felt.
Praying for India to win last night when team needed 10 runs out of 6 balls and then seeing it winning the match was just astonishing. It was great to see Sachin Tendulkar back in form – the way he played in his early twenties. We had never lost the hopes till Uthappa was on the crease. He played just amazingly to make India win out of blues.
And then it was the first day of Raveesh as our new room-mate. He is also mah colleague. Good to have first day on superb note
Yes he also plays TT and is left-handed
.
Hey Chunks, we are still missing you…
Before that, there was a trip to Parwanoo on this weekend…enjoying the trolley and then, Timber Trail. The location is just right place to spend the best times of your life.
What can be better than to be enjoying there with friends – the perfect perk of being someone than someone else
Happy Birthday, Rajinder!!

Another post going along series of The Gurgaon Summers of 2007.
A weekend which started with a heated up cricket match against players of Cricket Academy on Saturday noon at cricket ground of ITM College, Gurgaon (Institute of Technology and Management, Gurgaon). It really doesn’t feel like 44 C (112 F) over ground when you have support of your mates / colleagues and also I like wandering under sun
.
Then there was a meet organized by a dear friend about another Multilevel business. This time it was quest.net. I didn’t want to even go for listening about it but sometimes, you can’t just avoid it. Of course, you have the last word and so I went out to have good time calling for long sleep after a hot day’s match.
On Sunday, it was MOVIE TIME – there were few best and others, the worst. I wouldn’t be going much into details but writing about them in short.
Blood Diamond – After watching this movie, I have found 10 other reasons not to gift diamonds in my life but of course, you can never understand a girl as she can be the only reason for you to buy a diamond, ever. It moved me just like anything. It justifies the 5 Oscars including Best Actor given to Leonardo DiCaprio and Best Supporting Actor to Djimon Hounsou. There is mention of India but in wrong context. Here are few dialogues from movie which just shake you up -
- Sometimes I wonder…will God ever forgive us for what we have done to each other? Then I look around and I realize…God left this place a long time ago.
- So what is the point…haan?
In this movie, the guy wonders how brutally his own countrymen were killing their own people but this game is still in corrupt countries including India where dishonest officials and politicians let their people starve filling their own houses. I wonder the way Black Economies sustain in those countries.
Rating – 9.5/10
Ghost Rider – Just a time pass movie and I was expecting much from Nicolas Cage (I still like watching movies of few wonderful actors which include Nicolas Cage, Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio). Here are few nice dialogues which I liked -
- The thing about legends is… sometimes, they are true.
- You cannot live in fear…what did you get in return.
- He may have my soul but he doesn’t have my spirit.
Rating – 6/10
Fool N Final – A movie made to fool you. Only noticeable thing in movie is music. I wonder, how director managed such big cast.
Rating – 2/10
I wish one day, only my ratings could speak and I have started practicing that from now

It was the hottest day of year on Saturday as per Times Of India with mercury touching 44°C and we were celebrating it by playing cricket in noon at cricket ground of ITM (Institute of Technology and Management) College, Gurgaon with Jet Airways. It was very close combat and everyone ended up drenching in sweat. Everyone had idea that it was quite hot day but it turned out to be hottest only in next day’s newspaper
.
Well, we glorified the hottest weekend of year (Sunday was declared hotter than Saturday by Hindustan Times) with Ice-Creams, Coconut Water, Watermelons, Cold Drinks (I am always for – Do the Dew ahem), a small rain-show and watching all-time good movies like Cocktail, Don and Don – The chase begins again (Sony was showing Don and Star Plus was showing Don – The chase begins again in parallel on Sunday evening). Of course, it is just a start…lot more to come in this season but we got the signal – Summer has started and electricity cuts too. There was a power cut of 11 hours in night of Saturday as well as Sunday - The Power Blues have also just started.
