If it is music and beats in Aaja Aaja which attract you, Aahoon Aahoon got unmatchable lyrics with music – both songs make you drool and move out of your unwillingness. These have got class to make you like them.

Aahoon Aahoon has got Punjabi touch and that makes me love it more (though lyrics are taken from another Punjabi song) but the lyrics are meaningful as well which make sense for listening to it. There is another song in same album Love Aaj Kal- Ajj Din Chadheya which has wonderful comparison of beauty in its lyrics sung by traditional singer.

These are recommended to listen at least once.

From the time, music album of this movie is out, I am kinda hooked to some of its typical songs and would definitely like to watch this movie specially when now I have idea of its plot as well. In case you are curious, it is about modern Devdas starring Abhay Deol (I predict that he will be the actor who will be one of the most talked about celebrities on this blog in this year ) and 2 new unheard heroines – one is typical Paaro who is simple and other is Chanda who is shown as worst girl one can be.

Dev.D is a drug addict guy and that’s how story moves in Chandigarh and Delhi cities (I love these cities). And then Dev.D also lands in Calcutta where he meets Chanda.

Abhay is an actor whose every movie has been different starting from Socha Na Tha, then Ahista Ahista to Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and now Dev.D. All these roles are as difficult and vast for an actor as difficult is for Mallika Sherawat to wear clothes covering her full body. And that’s why I have not missed any single movie by this actor though some stories never seemed justified to me.

Dev.D has also to do with music as something like Patna Ke Presley is mentioned in its promo. Then they say that DPS mms scandal is also part of it. It is buzzing as if it will be altogether quite boxed movie to entertain you for every single minute. Let us wait for that but it will be one very different movie from common stream, I am sure.

It has gotten 15 songs, many of which are pretty good. I specifically like Dunia (too realistic), Emosional Attyachar (funky), Dev Chanda Themes 2 (Instrumental), Dil Mein Jagi (classic) and Hikk Naal (typical punjabi – those who can understand its lyrics know how meaningful it is!!) – quite versatile and different. Other tracks are good as well and I am waiting to hear them again as they are being played in winamp in background. Kudos to its lyricists (Amitabh Bhattacharya, Shellee, Shruti Pathak and Mani) and musician Amit Trivedi who has also sung four songs in album including Dunia.

Trivia: Emosanal Attyachar was originally Emotional Atyachar as it should sounds actually and was written as such in first ever post about this song by director of Dev.D – Anurag Kashyap. There he also writes about the inspiration behind this song. Secondly, in start Rajeev Khandelwal was booked to act in this movie (mentioned in same post by director) and this should hard time for Rajeev to know how well it is doing in its promos.

Not very late I realized that I was watching lot of movies than average. And when I counted these movies, magic numbers started coming out and by Christmas, there are two hundred and one movies which I have already seen in 2008. Whoa! 201 only on DVDs/Multiplexes. No movie count of those watched over movies. I will take it as achievements.

Also it is the reason, I haven’t been blogging quite frequently despite being online for all 24-hours.

They say, when you are in tension, you eat lot of food but for me, when I am in tension, I watch lot of movies!!

The Girl Next Door – Good movie but doesn’t fit for every kind of person.

One Two Three – 15 minute of humor (that too campy one from Paresh Rawal) in 2.5 hours of movie.

Krazzy 4 – Another comedy to make you giggle but again failed to make your jaws open more than 30 minutes.

A Walk To Remember – Another romantic flick suggested to me by Vineet after Girl Next Door and I realized that I hadn’t watched much of English romantic flicks before this. I don’t want to forget that scene where a boy approaches a girl for help and girl agrees on one promise asking him – "You are not going to fall in love with me". The boy replies smiling – "That’s not a problem" and he meant it. Ah I would call it intelligent question than a brave or notorious and you better watch this movie that how boy breaks his promise to fulfil the best wish of girl…but unknowingly. I was moved to watch this story (although it didn’t contain much to keep you glued if you aren’t interested) and found couple of Hindi movies inspired from this one.

And at this point I wanted to recall those sequels which I always loved to watch like – Pirates of the Caribbean, Ice Age, Shrek, Die Hard and The Matrix…many of which are my favorite and rest include – The Mask, Titanic, A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code, The Departed, Blood Diamond, Aaradhna, Amar Prem, Anand, DDLJ, Lagaan, Yaadein, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Rang De Basanti.

Star Trek – Watched all 10 movies in this so called Geek sequel in one week of time and it was fun seeing how technology advancements keep on adding up in every part and the way actors prospered. Following is list of ten parts in sequence -

Scent of a Woman – One of the best classic movies acted in by Al Pacino as is told. Liked this movie in veteran perspective played by Al Pacino and also those study days of my childhood got recalled while watching role of Charlie Simms who resembled a lot with my school days…eh nostalgia…still I feel like that I will be as I was if got into school, once again! The last speech delivered by Al stole whole spirit – the best scene of movie.

Scarface – Another mob story starred by Al Pachino. Dint make sense to me. I would prefer American Gangster over this one when they share similar history.

Wild Hogs – Nice movie on bikers. Was fun watching John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy as star bikes who take out some time of their busy/miserable lives to feel the freedom.

What Women Want – After watching this movie, almost everyone would like to have power of knowing what women think but perhaps I wouldn’t like to when it is too hard to get ou of this curse! Really a wonderful entertainment from Mel.

Rain Man – I would definitely like to meet such a Rain Man of my childhood which can be real! An emotional story of two brothers.

Jannat – Another crap from Mahesh Bhatt and once again, a movie starring Emran Hashmi gets -1 (if that had been possible) from me & Chunky on its premier at our Empire.

There Will Be Blood – Not a good enough movie to be nominated for Oscars. Too slow to bear with.

Tears of the Sun – A movie about Americans. How they conceive USA as the world. For them, nothing is more important in this world than USA even when they are outside US on a war operation…am liking such movie?? No way.

Crash – A movie about racism. If it was racism in LA on the basis of color as shown in movie, there is same scenario on the basis of casts in India…would love to see a movie here on that level of discrimination.

The Longest Yard – Another movie about American Football and it was another good movie on American Football…I was wondering how many movies they make about their favorite game and I have watched only 4 movies on Cricket and one on Hockey here in India!!

Babel – Different parallel stories emerging in the end which are more about telling that how much US is better than rest of the world and to Americans, US means world but nothing else. Sometimes I wonder how directors dare to make such disgusting movies where they just try to show only sorrow in rest of the world and the comfort you enjoy in US. Neither realistic nor deserved to be nominated for Oscars.

Forbidden Kingdom – Nice martial art movie and it was great to see best 2 Martial Art Yodas of today’s Hollywood – Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

10 Things I Hate About You – A sweet teenage movie. There is this phrase (not used generally) in this movie – "Behind Enemy Lines" and there was a movie with same title released in early 00s.

28 Weeks Later – A sci-fi about deadly virus – almost a copy of I Am Legend.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle – Wonderful comedy on lifestyle of Asians in US…of course in 2004! It makes you remind the time the way you laughed while watching There’s Something About Mary!

40 Year Old Virgin – Just entertainment.

Goodfellas – True mob story around late 70s and early 80s starring Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta. If I would prefer American Gangster over Scarface, then I would prefer Goodfellas over American Gangster – all around same subject but one better than other and Goodfellas turns out to be the best of them.

Somehow I found acting of Ray Liotta matching a lot with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Graduate – Sweet Romantic late 70s movie.

The Thomas Crown Affair – Typical Pierce Brosnan, Bond style movie.

Save The Last Dance – A story about passion, dance and love. One of classic genre, I would say.

Rating: 7.5/10

21 Grams – At death, everyone looses 21 grams, is the concept – one of those typical complex movies which has straightforward story but director jumbles it in a way so that you can apply your brain to understand it. I find it crazy idea on part of director.

Rating: 4/10

88 Minutes – A suspense but insightful movie acted in by Al Pacino based on 88 minutes to his murder.

Rating: 6.5/10

Sarkar Raj – If you liked Sarkar, chances are that you will like it too but in less proportion as in this equation: 0 < [Sarkar - (Sarkar Raj)] < 1. Ram Gopal Verma has produced another part of masterpiece based on Parallel Government but mixed with regionalism which tastes bitter at few points in movie although the storyline is once again, fantastic. He has already made clear about release of third in sequel from the ending which will be having main star named Cheeku (made me recall Vishal – my sweet roomie in Bangalore but now married!).

21 – A story based on brilliance of Brain and Mathematics but wasted on Cards which will definitely make you recall Rain Man and also mentioned in movie. For me it is a coincidence that I watched both in same time spell (as used in Cricket, generally). One in those rare movies which made me recall childhood and if it had been the situation, I had been luckier than the lead character (Ben Campbell) as then both mah Math as well as Science teachers had betted on me with equal probability but Ben was fortunate to have chance to apply his talent in extreme way (you can call it best or worst) and over that, he got opportunity to mention the incident in order to get benefit out of it! Brilliance counts and if provided a prospect can be fruitful in really BIG way.

Flash Point (Dou Fo Sin) – An insight over after-life of under-cops…if discovered.

Semi-Pro – It is some Basketball + some Fun and you realize that only when it finishes.

Rogue – After watching this movie, I would never like to go for a wild-life tour. It provokes instinct more than fear within you. Another attempt from an American director towards joint attempt to prove that there is no place safer than America, Americans are so brave and blah blah. This time it was Australia.

The Shepherd: Border Patrol – Truth about how Americans make more money that could  ever make and true Mexico-America border incidents.

Knocked Up – This time, it was a Canadian to make laugh of. A funny story over unwanted pregnancy situation.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest – Emotional movie topping the IMDB charts. One of the exceptional plots as I observed.

Mere Baap Pehle Aap – Another below average comedy from Priyadarshan with almost senseless dialogues throughout the movie. The actress is starring with debuting actor in movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na – logic by Priyadarshan can be to bake the popularity!

The Condemned – Action movie full of violence starring ex-WWF wrestler Steve Austin. Movie is based on a game where only last survivor on island wins it.

Kung Fu Panda – A wonderful animation movie. After all it is you who has capability to achieve everything by being whatever you are and wherever you are. Yesterday is mystery, Tomorrow is history but Today is a gift – this is called the present – the gift!

Bhootnath – Nice movie on concept of souls and their attachments. Good enjoyment. Learn to forgive.

American History X – Racism and Castism is everywhere but it is how well and how soon you learn to get above it. Of course reservation is one of the reasons given for such lame thinking and there is always gray line in such matters. One of those must watch movies for all those suffering from disease called discrimination: be it on bases of region, color, cast or religion! Don’t hate anybody. Don’t hate the subject but cause. Ask just one Q whenever you feel low in your life – Is there anything you have done in recent times (your life) for better. Edward Norton has acted in more than couple of good movies.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind – Truly said – There is no business like Show Business! May be a Bible for those doing masters in marketing but for me, it was one below average.

Vantage Point – Another false try to prove that US is the world…not like I hate the country but such misleading movies.

Erin Brokovich – Mere certification doesn’t make anyone better than others. You better prove yourself. There are very few people in this world who always have an open hand to offer a hand-shake without any selfishness or expectations. Did I mention that it is a true story! I happened to visit the website of actual real life Erin Brokovich whose physical appearance resembles very much to Julia Roberts justifying the selection of actress to play the role.

Eyes Wide Shut – After-marital trust…resembled very much to programming term – dangling pointers. Only character which was somewhat liked was of Tom Cruz.

Factory Girl – There is life beyond regular work or zeal of gaining extraordinary fame, a life worth cheering for, a life worth enjoying for without any regrets or worries…a true story about the one who flowed and drowned with emotions. There is difference between an overpaid prophet and a poor little rich girl which sometimes isn’t visible at all.

Romeo & Juliet – Thou shall Live and be Prosperous. And when thee die, it should be for others. Based on William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan – Nice comedy and something about what is happening in Israel!

Stop-Loss – Even after war, a soldier isn’t safe to life normal life. Too tough to understand. People you love matter more than anything else – a philosophy which is always taken as Gray than Black & White .

What Happens In Vegas – Not good when you have plans to make other plans and not about being spontaneous. At the same time, not pretty easy to be carefree and romantic at the same time. I would rather do nothing and be happy than do something that I don’t love.

Be Kind Rewind – In beginning I wanted to stop this movie at couple of places but by the end, I was more interested in watching the end but then, the ending was disappointing. New term, Sweeded movies – the remakes in real conditions. Even the ideas driven and then taken forward can also succeed.

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal – Sometimes origin is more important than liabilities or dreams. I just loved the concept perhaps because it made me recall a bit of past.

8½ – A movie made in 1963 aimed towards depicting life of movie-makers. Man! old movies were really lengthy like Hindi movies but without music. It is as boring as it sounds and just a thought made me reject such other remaining lengthy movies in the list – Brokeback Mountain, Citizen Kane, Night Flier, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Pianist and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Chaos Theory – Small little story about relationships. It is love that we decide to give. It is love that we decide to receive.

Drillbit Taylor – About High-School craze and a formula about saving yourself from the bullies at such places. One of the two actors which I really like enjoying because they don’t apply much brains in their movie roles – Owen Wilson. Other is Ashton Kutcher.

Superhero Movie – Made joke of every Superhero movie from Batman, Superman, Fantastic Four to most of the part, Spiderman and even X-Men wasn’t left. Literal time wastage.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na – Same old successful, well tried formula – a balance between Love and Friendship. Nothing new.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor – Wasn’t as good as its previous parts. Even Scorpion King looked better to me than Mummy Returns but this one didn’t stand around that.

Singh IS Kinng – A dialog based movie. But recalled few similarities including the TK resemblance with Raji!!

The Silence Of The Lambs – It feels good to fulfill for something missed long back in past. A moving story.

Bachna Ae Haseeno – It’s hard to handle crying but it’s easy to break heart (Rona Dhona handle karna bohot mushkil hai…par dil todna zayada asaan). A very dicy and confused movie.

Chamku – Some directors think Hat Ke (off the line) and there movies are labeled as Offbeat. I liked this movie because it is practical and suggests something which is possible to make this country, this world a better place. On the same lines, I had liked Lal Salaam (many haven’t even heard about this movie including my roomie, Amit!!) but then such movies aren’t directed that well as they are expected to.

The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior – Next version of The Scorpion King and wasn’t disappointing.

Tahaan – Another movie on child psychology. Last one which I watched on same subject was Blue Umbrella. This movie also put light on present scenario in Kashmir valley. Nice movie but of short length which you hate when you are watching a movie in multiplex!! This was my first visit to only PVR in Chandigarh at Centra Mall and I had company of Amit. Same day we paid visit to Sec 35 market, Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake.

Pay It Forward – I wish that everyone watch this movie to learn a way of living life. Do something really good to others like changing a person and then ask them to Pay It Forward to as many people they can.

1920 – I would say, Vikram Bhatt has acquired expertise in making horror movies. He knows how to club special effects with religious beliefs and emotions. Personally I wasn’t that interested in watching this movie after learning that it is horror movie when Raji was prepared to watch it again at multiplex, if I am ready, it made me think. And I was there at only PVR at Chandigarh for second time and it was worth it. This one was better than previous from Vikram – Raaz. So if you are planning to watch a Hindi horror, think of Vikram Bhatt.

A Wednesday – Hema had already recommended this movie. Was thrilling to see Nassiruddin playing as a common man’s role. An eye opening movie for every Indian and by the end, my eyes were moist to watch thinking of every common Indian man on screen. I had guessed the story in very first 15 minutes, perhaps because I find myself as another stupid common man.

Welcome To SajjanPur / Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur – Really good tme pass when it depicts typical villages of India in today’s age with a little drama.

Death Race – And as soon as US economy downfall came into news, they made a movie on bankruptcy of whole country.

The Fall – The story-teller telling his own story in form of a myth of six heroes. Becomes too boring in-between.

The X Files: I Want to Believe – Typical X-Files episode. Only thing to learn – Don’t give up.

Kidnap – One thing is sure that Imran Khan is too bad at dialogue delivery and when such person is in lead role, it means movie will definitely go flop. Also story wasn’t much impressive,  rather looked inspired from previous flick of Sanjay Dutt, Zinda – my first ever movie in Gurgaon.

Drona – Imagine a movie which should have been of 1 hour length but it is extended to 2.5 hours – very boring. I was waiting to watch this movie for quite long time as it is based on a mythical hero but too much stretching of story made it dull.

Good Luck Chuck – Some remarks in very start turned me off and they don’t care about racial remarks. After Michael Bay, Mark Helfrich is second director I am adding to my movie blacklist. No more movies from these directors.

Barrier 13 – A movie which has everything – action, drama, romance, suspense and what not. Best thing is that you never get bored anywhere. Any place in this world can be made better and it is people like us who does that.

Final Destination – If you can attain some superpower, I think this is one you wouldn’t like to have.

I, Robot – Future predicted with robots. Laws are essential for them on which they are constructed.

The Dark Knight – Though a superhero movie but still teaches something for loving every human being, in simple means. Even (top) Hollywood movie makers copy hit Bollywood movie logics as is done in this movie. Remember that Amitabh Bachchan’s coin trick of super hit Hindi movie Sholay? Here it was duplicated. Was good to see 6630 being used in movie too.

Juno – Specific to a region than a cause.

The Notebook – Some movies are destined to touch you from inside and this is one such love story. U, Me Aur Hum was no justice to this story at all. Only thing that I didn’t feel justified was role of luck which can never be predicted in anyone’s life. For same reasons, I hadn’t liked other movie with really good story – Serendipity.

Little Children – Surely its director Todd Field got inspiration from story of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna though that movie wasn’t so good either.

Fashion – As was expected, another typical glamour movie from Madhur Bhandarkar. He thinks that he shows the truth but he makes sure that it looks ugly.

Golmaal Returns – As entertaining was Golmaal, so boring is Golmaal Returns.

Raise Your Voice – Hilary Duff is one damn talented actress as far as I could figure out after watching her in The Cinderella Story and this flick. Wonderful story and more than that, what a beautiful story though a bit fairy.

Taken – A lovely story on father-daughter relationship but a little exaggerated while imposing a superman Daddy.

Ru-Ba-Ru – Not recommended at all. A movie on foreseeing a happening in dream and trying to prevent it.

Dasvidaniya – A movie based on the things you would like to do before you die. In this movie, actor comes to know that he is going to die in some time and then he prepares list of things which he would like to do before his death. My question is what about those people or most of us who aren’t aware of their death at all. And my answer to it is that better live every moment, do the things right now which you want to do before your death and let your graveyard read – No Regrets. Not impressed from this movie specially when there were so many talented actors including Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey and Rajat Kapoor. Also this movie is based on story of The Bucket List.

Dostana – Another movie about hyped unacceptable logics from Karan Johar. I hope one day he understands that movies don’t mean only the direction but story and songs as well.

Quantum of Solace – Not as good as were the expectations specially when some directors like Marc Forster think that no country in this world other than England deserves respect and only UK is a country free from any kind of terror. Bond is wasted.

Yuvvraaj – Not bad if looked at from Indian perspective but not very representational. Of course, once again, I would like to repeat that Salman Khan has ruined his image, acting as well as vocal. Subhash Ghai is still a classic movie maker.

Mera Pind – When it is Punjab, movies become more regional than generic/global and that’s what turns whole presentation down.

Four Brothers – Action movie with not much to understand.

National Treasure – A movie on treasure searching casting Nicholas Cage.

Shoot On Sight – How a particular  community makes mistakes again and again and that’s why they are targeted. But there are many other thoughtful there who know what is the right way. Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri is one wonderful combination in any movie. A thought provoking flick. Must watch for some realizations.

Cold Mountain – A war time love story of American History beautifully told.

 No Country For Old Men – Great actors in a movie dating back to 1980 which is quite slow and targeting a community.

Street Kings – Corruption is everywhere even in Police but it is all about how few brave and honest people eliminate it.

Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! -  What a fun it was while watching this movie – truly for those who wouldn’t mind bearing little stupidity when movie is based on true incidents. One which will be remembered multiplex watch and was cherished equally. Quite much like a superhero act but in simple manner.

3:10 to Yuma – A slow and at places boring too but still turns out to be good movie with mix of wisdom and courage.

Hotel Rwanda – I was a little hesitant to watch this movie as I had already watched another very good movie on same subject – Sometimes in April. But this one turned out to be much better.

The Green Mile – I still remember that this was the most recommended movie by Ashish Chawla when I asked him one movies I should, back in 2004 at Punjabi University and here I finally watched it. It was worth watching it – a movie which seems to be made selflessly and by the end, becomes very heavy. And one thought passed through my mind – why don’t our stupid Bollywood directors (yes every single of them) copy such movies.

Max Payne – This is one of my favorite video games – top video game of year 2001 but this movie was no justice to the game. It becomes too boring in between and hasn’t a very strong hold on story as well.

Cassandra’s Dream – Very slow and quite unusual movie involving crime by simple pair of brothers. Once indulged in crime for great firtune, you may never get away from it.

Atonement – Some girls act very stupidly and those acts can ruin someone’s life! Sooner or later they realize their mistakes but by then, it is of not much use…

The Usual Suspects – Movie about how spontaneous plans are made and put into work. Nice story.

The Beatles Anthology – If you like Beatles – one of the best Rock Bands, then you will definitely like to know them via this Documentary.

Three Kings – War time story of US Armymen in Iraq/Kuwait. Well directed but still there is lot of unnecessary bashing.

Layer Cake – Everyone likes to go through a door marked private and this is the movie for all those with same kind of mentality. Quite entertaining because most of the people think like that. Still they try to serve racism in one form or other.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi – Great director, good actor but an illogical story which makes you feel a little down for a while. It is entertaining btw.

Deja Vu – Sometimes few concepts are thought much above the human ability of acceptance. This is one such Sci-fi cum action movie.

Loaded – A movie about how a simple guy can easily get into drugs and violence.

Mamma Mia! – A rare English musical movie but not much appealing in terms of entertainment.

Redbelt – A movie on typical martial art and how much significance a red belt keeps in it. A little excessive action.

Get Smart – Wonderful entertainment movie – smart combination of Comedy and Action. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stormbreaker -  A movie which might had been much better specially when it is on good subject and about secret agents but lacked proper flow of story.

Jerry Maguire – I watched this movie for second time as a surprise to myself but it was wonderful specially after having the same kind of experience. Wondered why no one suggested me to watch this movie when I was at one of the lowest times of career.

Righteous Kill – Sometimes it is better to stand against the terror and face it than to keep living under it. A great movie featuring two great actors.

Meet Joe Black – A movie worth watched. To remind you that you are guest of the moment and you better remain content with that, remain minimalist! At many places, I found Joe literally mimicking me.

Lions For Lambs – A movie about the stage when you are in position to make decisions for lifetime. Decisions taken at that time with your country in your mind are worth more than anything else. A nice fusion of three stories featuring great actors of all times.

Evan Almighty – Believe and stick to it. It will happen. But again it contained offensive communal dialogues.

Rating: 2/10

Jersey Girl – Very lovely movie – once again about minimalism but once again turned down by offensive dialogues.

The Island – Another thrilling Sci-Fi after Equilibrium starring Sean Bean once again. Loved it.

Heat – A wonderful action movie traces/scenes/trails of which are still copied in today’s movies, be it Hollywood or Bollywood. Awesome drama featuring English actors of the century – Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Glad that it was my 199th movie of the year because sometimes it is one before completion which is always recalled!

Into the Wild – A real life-learning stuff if you think that you are in need to know where happiness lies or how it grows. Happiness only real when shared!

The Day the Earth Stood Still – Sci-Fi movie on marking Earth’s Global Warming as biggest issue for survival of Human Kind, featuring Keanu Reeves but very loosely coupled without many special effects as expected in such movies!!

One trend which I have noticed in recent years is that big banners as well as actors try to schedule releases of their movies around end of year instead of start of next year. Akshay has been doing it for three years in row starting from Bhagam Bhag in 2006, with big success for all of them. This year there are three from all different actors – Ghajini, Yuvvraaj and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Looks like sure success formula in Bollywood as it has always worked for movies like Welcome and Jab We Met in recent years.

In that way we as music lovers, also get great collection of music for our ears!!

Whole week I was busy in settling down at office and at the apartments. Things were so messed up at both places. For first time, I realized that even a girl can mess up an apartment too much to clean up properly. Eh.

This was the first weekend and went out to Mccarthy Ranch. There first went to Best Buy and looked at the electronics goods primarily. But I found that all those which I wanted were more cheaper when purchased online than from store provided you know where to look out over Internet. Then it was Wallmart to get other stuff for living. Interestingly I happened to meet and talk with 2 Indian guys (Harsh and Sri) at Best Buy and one at Wallmart (Srinivas) which was surprising for me provided my nature of… At the end of day, we had something going inside our stomachs (I am not able to recall the name of outlet) but I must say, it is very hard for a veggie to survive on fast-food here specially when you get to eat ultra-cold burgers and that too, not much tasty . India is much better in that way. Also, here McDonald’s doesn’t serve any vegetable items…huh. Also bus service is till 0830 only on weekend. So you better get into last bus otherwise you will be left thinking of almost no other alternative.

Weather here is quite cold and you can’t be out from home without any jacket even when it is a sunny day. And purchase of a jacket was the costliest part of my shopping . I chose Raiders to save myself from deadly cold outside. It was quite expensive shopping for me out of we 3 at the end of day but I had something to feel good for sleeping soundly. Nits is still busy with issues …poor guy. I don’t know when will he get to sleep.

On lighter note, I happened to see not even a single unmarried Indian girl over whole trip!!!

I am downloading selected movies to watch out later and to feel homely . Also listening to music all the time while being at home. My messenger contacts can see my status changing every 5 minutes. Also family and friends out there in India are helping a lot to make me not feel much nostalgic.

Yuvraj just hit like a star in third test of India against Pak. It was he who acclerated Indian innings and made it to achieve record 350+ score on very first day of test. I am also having some strange feeling about this movie…possible not on positive side!!

One, it has the title which another fellow blogger writes his blog referring to . Isn’t that nice coincident. In his blog, PSV talks to an identity named by him as Mausam and muses about happenings of his life with it. I had come across his wonderful blog long back but now it has been marked as private by him. He was nice enough to drop by my Guest Book and say nice words

Secondly, without any specific reason, I like singing this song while getting wet in rain and it is rainy season these days here. So that is pretty obvious for me to like it more than any other song nowadays.

It never looks like it has been more than 6 months since I have been listening to this song .

Other songs which I am liking these days are Bhool Bhulaiya (Bhool Bhulaiya), Saawariya (Saawariya) and Ajab Si (Om Shanti Om). Particularly I appreciate the way Saawariya (Saawariya) has been sung by Shail Hada which makes me recall Yoodle era of Kishore Kumar.

Watched Dhamaal yesterday and it is just fantastic Hindi movie if you like comedy. I have never believed in Times Of India ratings which once again disappointed me as it had given just 1.5 starts to this movie. It deserves at least 3/5 or 7/10 according  to me.

So that is what I have been listening to, other than watching watching Good Boy Bad Boy (2.5/10) and Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi (6/10) – of course at home, I am not going to watch those craps, at least GBBB in theatre. Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi was still fine and I liked its title song.

Also in these days, I found out that I am the one coining term – Code Punter! Proud for that. Secondly, recently, I have started coming out with quite good quotes…looks like I am on the verge of becoming notable if not the legend .

A fun & movie filled weekend with loads and loads of beverages.

It started with Hattrick and beverages spread all around in home theatre. The director is no one else but Milan Luthria of Taxi No. 9211 and Kachche Dhaage. Not a bad movie – completely based on cricket. Starts with cricket and ends with the cricket although India couldn’t make it to the final. Danny has done great job and also, it is clearly stated that why people don’t like Nana’s style. Rimi Sen is over-acting as always. Kunal Kapoor is just fine. The main attraction is Nana-Dany duo. Also the NRI connection is fitted somewhere with Paresh in UK. The strength of relations is shown very well. And the way a typical NRI survives in UK/USA!

Then it was Red – a bit complex story and not a typical thriller. A bit better than other Aftab’s flop flicks. For first time, we all enjoyed watching him acting. The way a bad girl can use a guy for herself. An effort to prove that few girls possess brain better than guys but ultimately guys are proved to be the best. And there are old scratched dialogues from scriptures – Jar, Joru and Jameen, Tria Chritram Devam Na Janam blah blah.

After Red, was turn of Namaste London which Chunky and Anuj had already seen but they didn’t mind to see it again, just the way I liked watching next movie again. A really good movie. After so many months, I liked any movie. Really a story of funjabi boy. It is third movie of of Vipul Amrutlal Shah as director and he hasn’t disappointed. He holds talent to produce block-buster movies even if it is Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the movie . Brit connection with India is shown and the lifestyle of brits – which is a bit exaggerated and quite much partial toward Indian lifestyle – in my view. The living of brit NRIs and their concern about their children…the way they come to India searching partners for their children and find one…sounds familiar? Yes, lot of movies have been made on this connection and still being made but they never fail, surprisingly! The rugby match is also a common ingredient of such movies. I liked watching even this rugby match. The dialogues are just superb. Akshay has also started doing some sensible acting. Few dialogues that I liked the most are (yes I remembered some of those which I liked) -

Ishq di mere mitra pehchaan ki,

Mit jaave jadon jid apnan di

(Love isn’t all about getting)

Ishq mein koi shart nahi hoti (No demands in love)

For first time, I liked Himesh Reshammiya singing Viraniyan – perhaps lyrics by Javed Akhtar did the work (Himesh Reshammiya & Javed Akhtar – together for first time)!

The last movie was Honeymoon Travels. A good start of movie, things run quite fastly (after all it is story of 5-6 married couples) and it keeps you excited about the next twists but by the end, the climaxes start boring you and when you come to know about super-hero couple which fights only once in 16 years, yawning is obvious. It also makes you think if director is supporting gayism or gay culture…to some extent!!!

It was 2300 in clock when the show was finally over…And we thanked GOD for long weekends and lascivious life.

Also watched Traffic Signal – movie from Madhur Bhandarkar, at MGF, Gurgaon on this weekend but it was too boring to write anything about it. No storyline and lot of stories to understand something but acting of Kunal was god. Konkana Sen was to bad in her role. All what happens is one project gets scrapped and it took him more than a year to make out. In real life. projects scrap faster than that . Songs are also too bad to hear out except one which I liked a lot – Na Jis Din Teri Meri Baat Hoti Hai. Here are its lyrics -
