(Bollywood, Hollywood, Movies, Music)
There was another big round of movies over long Holi weekend. Was great splash over Holi on Saturday.
Watched Race on Friday. Wasn’t too hard to get ticket for house-full show. It got the twists which keeps to struck to your seats and forces you to keep your eyes open in whole movie. I think even Abbas-Mastan wouldn’t have ever thought before that they will be making such a twisted movie. Nice movie told in short and not having very good story especially when I can catch the story suspense part within 30 seconds of its occurrence. Music as well as the background music effects in this movie were good.
Rating: 7.5 / 10
Life is Beautiful (6/10) - Really it is if you dare to overlook the woes of wars. (Wanted to watch it because I had overheard once someone saying that this was the one most justified movie to win Oscar.)
Pink Panther (1963) (5/10) - Wasn’t too funny. The later version of movie is funnier.
Super Star (6/10) - Luck plays a big role, according to such movies but you should still keep trying for better.
The Pursuit of Happyness (3/10) - A crap like by so many people who think that happiness comes with money. Warning - It is a very very serious movie.
Seven (7/10) - One shouldn’t be too brittle to stick to rules but should keep trying to make others follow them in easier way. At least I came to know about the seven sins although now the number has increased. Following from old version -

Black & White
A movie raising concerns about national security and giving proud feeling of being Indian! Concept is wonderful but direction wasn’t up to the mark. I couldn’t figure out why it happens that whenever I go to watch out a movie with Pavan, it comes out to be patriotic. Last time, it was Rang De Basanti exactly one year back.
Rating: 7/10
Sweet November
As sweet as one can expect when you do something good to others without expecting anything in return. Long time and I haven’t come across such people! Not a digestible end but they happen and I know…
Rating: 9/10
Notting Hill
Heard a lot about it but didn’t find it sweater or more logical than Sweet November.

National Treasure isn’t that good to be recommended. It is a movie about finding a treasure of USA involving President’s secret book as well as President himself. Nicolas Cage was best in dialog delivery as always.

Juno just won Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen Oscar award. Should be next to watch out for me.

(Bollywood, Hollywood, Movies)
These are the 2 new movies which I have watched recently.
Thirteen days is about the story of ceasing the Cuban missile attack by Russia in 1962 during presidential period of John F. Kennedy. A good movie on negotiation (got reminded of Proof of Life in concept).
The only problem which I find with American movies on political or army background is that they show-off much more than they are capable of and this appears indigestible most of the times. This is one of the reasons that my favorite choice among English movies is either Sci-Fi, Romance or Comedy.
Rating: 5/10
Mithya is another version of Don. Think about the real Don getting murdered and the duplicate Don actually forgetting his past - the most complex approach one can think of. Movie looked better than even the original Don or the one by Farhan Akhtar but the end was disappointing which could had been shot better, may be not happy ending but better death. Ranvir Shorey is emerging as very fine actor.

Remember the Titans (6/10) - An inspiring movie but still I liked Coach Carter more than this one.
Blue Umbrella (7/10) - An addictive as well as beautiful movie covering all aspects of life keeping a very small subject at center stage. Wonderful direction and acting.
American Gangster (6/10) - Wasn’t impressed much other than the subject of movie plotted way back in late 60s and early 70s. Writer Steven Zaillian is really a master-piece who has worked on scripts of Gangs of New York and Schindler’s List in past. Reminds somewhere of The Godfather too.
