This year watched almost 200 movies. Out of these, 14 were watched at PVRs/Multiplexes and 186 were watched in home-theatre. I have been making resolutions to cut-short on movies watched in a year but it appears like it is keeping growing. Again one of my resolutions for this year is to bring down the number of movies watched.
Here is the list of last 100 movies watched in home theatre -
Y.M.I. Yeh Mera India – It was released last year but never got to hear about this movie. Happened to watch actual India, the real picture and the reality through this movie. Many of us would deny this reality but still it holds the way it is. There are so many issues and so many vantages highlighted in this movie. Perhaps I had never liked N. Chandra had this movie not been made. An eye opening and provoking flick for today’s young generation.
Few things which still occur extravagance are such as Good News behind every Bad News (the way tagline goes) and so many things happening in one day around selected personalities (can’t be imagined in any such scenario – even many such inordinateness movies are also being prepared in Hollywood and so are they disliked)
Rating: 7/10
The Hangover – Another One-Day comedy movie. Was hilarious at many places.
Rating: 7/10
The Other End of the Line – Quite unrealistic but showing quite realistic cultures. The core theme of Love Aaj Kal resembles with this movie.
Rating: 5/10
District 9 – Movie about accommodating alians on earth and the problems they can pose. Quite naive and dirty in the way slum of aliens is shown.
Rating: 5/10
Sleepless in Seattle – Gone are the days when such romantic movies were made. Another recommendation from Sunshine and turns out to be marvelous. Meg and Tom Hanks – one beautiful on-screen couple which always makes you smile, no matter whatever the ground of story is. This one is quite much about luck in love and once again reminds me of Serendipity.
Rating: 7/10
My Mom’s New Boyfriend – Wanted to watch it for Meg and finished it only for her otherwise nothing much like fun provided Antonio Banderas is also there. Perhaps only bad movie of Meg I watched so far.
Rating: 4/10
Marley & Me – An average comedy around a man, his family and his dog – all raising together. Couldn’t get much interest provided i like pets at zoos.
Rating: 6/10

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective – First movie of its kind. Very entertaining. Jim Carrey at one of his best – a motivating character.
Rating: 8/10
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls – Another flick which I missed for long time. Jim Carrey, a wonderful actor, maintains his performance as well as level he set in first part. But director doesn’t miss making fun of religious beliefs and that’s what turns it down.
Rating: 6/10

P.S. I Love You is brilliant concept and something very close to life. A romantic and realistic flick.
A way to show your love even when you are not there, physically.

Just like last weekend, this weekend was also spent enjoying only unseen and recommended movies. So here go those best of all times…
You’ve Got Mail – Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have turned out to be one of the best on-screen romantic couple. Meg Ryan looks just fabulous in romantic movies and this is one of her best works.
Though at many points, incidents are quite unbelievable and not applicable but still we find them quite acceptable according to situation. For example, it is almost impossible in today’s world of technology to blindly date someone over Internet without discussing any specifics and then have expectation for him/her to turn out to be the one you imagine while having conversation plus in the mean time, you already happen to know that person in real life.
While watching it, I was trying to form my own version as if those all points had taken into account, still movie had turned out to be the way it is. Still it had been equally good and likable.
A wonderful movie.
Rating: 8/10
Roman Holiday – I had heard that people went too far to get this movie’s DVD in their times including Hema and Sachin Tendulkar. And also it was Oscar winning performance by Audrey Hepburn (not Katharine Hepburn which I mistake her for, sometimes).
The story of movie is heart-touching. A rich princess falling in love with just another journo is shown in as much dramatic way as it can be. But movie happens to be very slow and naive as per our times.
Rating: 7/10
When Harry Met Sally… – The fundas given by lead actor about love in this movie were moving and bold. Who can dare to give any kind of suggestion on love without asking about it. But still the way these logics happen to be eye-opening and believable for lead actress Meg Ryan, the movie turns out to be quite beautiful and keeps you interested in the story – somewhere relating to our times.
Rating: 8/10
