Completed two years at CashEdge and Gurgaon

Oh, I didn’t realized that I have completed two big years at CashEdge on Wednesday (January 16, 2008). It appears really a big achievement to me when I look back to the golden time spent here while befriending many good people and learning so many things.

By now, I have been into two different Tech domains and learnt 3 different technologies while retaining same functional domain. If I was kinda expert (although I don’t exactly mean that) in one, I got to learn two completely new leading industry platforms which has been really wonderful experience especially when I am a big lover of Change than mere Designations!

When I am calling a learning curve, I literally mean that its been a curve outta here. An adventurous and exciting curve! Loving my organization…

Also completed my two years at Gurgaon on January 15, 2008 (Although I am not there physically but still I am paying the rent D ). Same day, my bike turned 2 years too. These two years never appeared to be that long while being in company of Chunky, Anuj and Puneet as my room-mates.

Its been really wonderful time spent in these 2 years and as I wished last year, I am looking forward toward longer relationships.

Experienced Developers

I personally like only those developers who still remain developers no matter how long they have been coding. Destiny may bring you to different positions or titles but ultimately if you are still writing code or you think like that, chances are that I would tend to like you.

I came across an old page about an application while talking with Ranjit where there was code for - Window Close Without Alert Message. The thing which attracted me was that it was uploaded in April 2002 - the time when I would have been preparing for my grad exams - that was the toughest semester, I remember.

This guy, Rahul Mahajan, had dared to share his image at that time was one reason to like, secondly he was sharing code, thirdly from that long time and going forward, last reason can be that he is still sharing beautiful things created by him. Perhaps because of same reasons, I happened to have better understanding with Vishal Bhatia here at CE than any other manager. Perhaps he is the only manager whom I like here in my org@Delhi because he is the well versed as well as balanced manager that I have come across in long time. I am not even interacting with even every developer here but the ones who are more in rhythm.

Another aspect - I like people who make me recall old good times, code and the rhythms…specially those who get older with time - old as in wine, right Mademoiselle?

Smiles

…and just smiles.

How do you feel when India wins a match which seems just impossible?

How does it feel to have gala time with your mates at the height of 5000 feet above sea level, walking over the clouds?

How do you perceive the joy of celebrating the birthday of your dear friend at midnight, the day India has won an exciting cricket match and also, when a new room-mate has joined you?

Such feelings can’t be described but felt.

Praying for India to win last night when team needed 10 runs out of 6 balls and then seeing it winning the match was just astonishing. It was great to see Sachin Tendulkar back in form - the way he played in his early twenties. We had never lost the hopes till Uthappa was on the crease. He played just amazingly to make India win out of blues.

And then it was the first day of Raveesh as our new room-mate. He is also mah colleague. Good to have first day on superb note )

Hey Chunks, we are still missing you…

Before that, there was a trip to Parwanoo on this weekend…enjoying the trolley and then, Timber Trail. The location is just right place to spend the best times of your life.

What can be better than to be enjoying there with friends - the perfect perk of being someone than someone else D

Table Tennis, Cricket and Sports

(CE, Colleagues, Corporates, Cricket, Just like that!, Mates, Personal, Sports, TT, Work)

After a long long time when there was nothing to play but work, there has come greenery again in terms of sports at CE. There were times when I talked about Quake III and other times it was about Table Tennis. Then there was a big silence for sports when nothing was there but only QuakeIII/netamp was the only source of enjoyment.

And it started again after another Nitesh, Nitesh Gupta took the initiative of starting sports. Of course, this Nitesh was already there to support the sport cause ) . The first corporate cricket match which was played in history of CE was on September 23, 2006 (why all good things happen to me in September month. Parichay, Infosys is also held in month of September, then my first ever and best ever appraisal was done in September and list continues…). We even witnessed our CFO joining us at the field in other cricket match at the ground of ITM College, Gurgaon.

And Table Tennis also started once again inside the corridors of CE from May 22, 2007. After all, revolutions are brought through little sparks and once again, both Niteshs were there - all for sports cause ) . And the best spell that I have seen so far is the one of bachelor Girish who won 25 games in one go before leaving…WOW.

It feels so nice to have a small workplace filled with quality environment and sports. What else would anyone expect for an ideal place to work at?
