Google has released its desktop app - Google Desktop for Mac today. It is excellent app that I have been using over my Windows machine. You need not to think before searching for a file using Google Desktop like where will it be lying or how much time will it take. All you have to mention the name of file and within fractions of a second, file location will be there in front of you. Although Google Desktop 5 had few issues with Outlook 2003 as I mentioned previously, it works fine with other applications and its previous versions work well with even Outlook 2003. The lot of Google Gadgets increase its utility many folds.

This version of Google Desktop, made available for Mac, is kept very basic and there are no gadgets for this release although it indexes the messages from Gmail. It requires Mac OS 10.4+
