Java Application Code Now Open Sourced

This is the latest press news from Sun Microsystems.

The open sourcing of Java technology is unique because that ecosystem is the world’s largest developer ecosystem. Java software runs on more devices, and in more applications, than Windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems combined.

The Java revolution was started about a decade ago and now, the most robust technology, as mentioned above, is accessible to world in most robust way – open source.

Java Open Source is now open and ready for developers to browse, download, and participate. The community will be the central source for open source Java software development project collaboration, source code, forums, and tools.

The source code can be downloaded from the Download page. Still the binaries are awaited for OpenJDK although there are already available for Mobile & Embedded and GlassFish Community.
