A Techie, Software Engineer, Programmer, Web Developer, Team Leader, Geek, Player, Writer, Internet Freak, Reader, IT Lover.............have many labels and descriptions and so is my approach to life. Every moment, second, minute, hour, week, month, year of it has something new to speak about as is my belief to live every moment of it.
I was born in Hoshiarpur - a small town of Punjab, India. My family is from Punjabi background but far in the history, the roots of our family lie in Kashmir - the heaven on earth.
I grew in my beautiful home city known as city of saints which is situated at the feet of Shivalik mountains. Completed my secondary education from Marygold Public School (till IInd) and Sarvhitkari Vidya Mandir School (till Xth). I have been a good speaker and won many prizes in debate competitions, poetry contests and quiz competitions plus scholarships in study. Kept participating in Science Fairs from my childhood. Have been good at study (I still wonder about that) and stood in merit in Matriculation.
After completing secondary education in 1998, chose Non-Medical field aiming towards Engineering. Completed my senior secondary education from Government College, Hoshiarpur (Oldest College of Punjab and alma mater of our honorable PM - Mr. Manmohan Singh) in 2000. I took admission in B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering) course in Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Punjabi University at Patiala. Was the Team Leader of Software Team of Tech Society of our department.
Worked at corporate headquarter of Infosys Technologies Limited at Bangalore, as Software Engineer, for about 15 months. Was awarded as Best Rookie of the year of APAC IBU at Infosys, for year 2004-2005. Presently I am employed in CashEdge India Private Limited at Gurgaon.
I regularly do Yoga. It is not my hobby or interest but a part of my life. I have been doing it from my childhood when I was of 7-8 years..
I can read, write and speak English, Hindi, Punjabi and Sanskrit, am a good presenter, speaker and a voracious reader of both printed and digital media. I enjoy reading as well as writing.
I write articles for magazines. I feel pleasure in writing works. My articles include both technical as well as non-technical flavours. In technical stuff, I try to cover different out-of-line areas and aspects of technologies. Many of my articles have appeared in the magazines of our Department.
Like to play Chess and Cricket. I have won prizes in these games. Have represented our first time participating University Campus team in Inter-University chess tournament. I play Table-Tennis as well. Computer games like Quake III, Need For Speed, Half Life etc are of special interest to me.
I am always in search of latest in IT. Various bulletins, magazines & news updates help me in it. A regular reader of few periodical magazines which adds up to my knowledge.
As a website developer, I have developed few websites including those of my Department and mine using different web technologies.
I am a passionate dancer. Have participated in few events at corporate level including Parichay at Infosys.
My another passions include Music, Sports and Movies.
